DETAILS
When I am commissioned to portray animals, I like to discuss carefully what exactly the client has in mind. Preference of size to compliment the space, how bright or subtle the colors need to be for the existing décor of the home or office and of course the subject matter. How many subjects are to be portrayed, with or without backgrounds and so on.Usually my clients have several photos they are particularly fond of that they would like to use for the painting. These can very simply be scanned and sent to me by email in order for me to advise if they are usable for the portrait in question. If not, then more must be found, or taken, for me to produce a true lifelike painting. Once I feel we have everything ready, I can start the process.
COST
Half the agreed price of the portrait is due and payable in USD before I begin any artwork. A receipt for this is immediately sent, acknowledging the intended painting in full. From this point, I like keep in close contact with the client, informing of the progress and also a projected completion date, for which there may be a deadline. Prices start at $1,000USD for a portrait in oils on a 16”x20” canvas, for one horse, with or without a rider and using a simple background. Rates increase according to size and subject matters. All other non-commissioned art is priced separately. I photograph the finished painting and send it by email for approval. Once this is received, the remaining balance is due and payable in USD, plus shipping costs.SHIPPING
I prefer to use UPS or FedEx for shipping, carefully packaging the art to arrive in perfect condition. As stated above,
this cost is added to the balance due on completion.
